Tech Incubator

This project was designed for NEW INC., an incubator that assists entrepreneurs working at the intersection of art and technology. The project was designed with sustainable practices and principles in mind from the start. The most pronounced architectural features are the large multi-height apertures. The apertures border the buildings atrium and allow large amounts of natural light to enter the building. They also contain operable windows and in conjunction with a series of operable skylights on the roof of the building they allow a natural cross-breeze to ventilate the building passively. The building is structured with recycled steel and a structural Rammed Earth panel system. The utilization of rammed earth allows the building to be constructed of durable, locally sourced materials as well as remain cost-efficient.
