Imago Amphitheatre

Imago is an amphitheater designed for a summer camp for kids with special needs. The project is nestled at the intersection of a tree line, a field, and the shore of a small lake. The dynamic roof form reflects the exuberant energy of the campers as they gather and perform in the amphitheater. The asymmetrical plan simplifies the circulation and creates an important sense of promenade at the entryway. The handwrought nature of the project is both a reflection of its rural context and indicative of its nature: this project was designed and realized by the Louisiana Tech University Design | Build program. I worked most intensely on the design of the plan and circulation of the amphitheater as well as the design and construction of the small roof and firewood wall below it.

The project was awarded both the Honor Award and the Member's Choice Award by Louisiana AIA.
